A numerical scheme based on mean value solutions for the Helmholtz equation on triangular grids

چکیده
A numerical treatment for the Dirichlet boundary value problem on regular triangular grids for homogeneous Helmholtz equations is presented, which also applies to the convection-diffusion problems. The main characteristic of the method is that an accuracy estimate is provided in analytical form with a better evaluation than that obtained with the usual finite difference method. Besides, this classical method can be seen as a truncated series approximation to the proposed method. The method is developed from the analytical solutions for the Dirichlet problem on a ball together with an error evaluation of an integral on the corresponding circle, yielding O(h4) accuracy. Some numerical examples are discussed and the results are compared with other methods, with a consistent advantage to the solution obtained here.

An efficient method for the numerical solution of Helmholtz type general two point boundary value problems in ODEs
In this article, we propose and analyze a computational method for numerical solution of general two point boundary value problems. Method is tested on problems to ensure the computational eciency. We have compared numerical results with results obtained by other method in literature. We conclude that propose method is computationally ecient and eective.
متن کاملMultigrid Method Based on Transformation Free Higher Order Scheme for Solving 3D Helmholtz Equation on Nonuniform Grids
Higher-order compact difference schemes can achieve higher order accuracy on uniform grids. However, in some cases these may not achieve the desired accuracy. Therefore, this paper proposes a multigrid method based on higher-order compact difference scheme for 3D Helmholtz equation on nonuniform grids. Interpolation and restriction operators are designed accordingly. The suggested scheme has up...
متن کاملA New Implicit Dissipation Term for Solving 3D Euler Equations on Unstructured Grids by GMRES+LU-SGS Scheme
Due to improvements in computational resources, interest has recently increased in using implicit scheme for solving flow equations on 3D unstructured grids. However, most of the implicit schemes produce greater numerical diffusion error than their corresponding explicit schemes. This stems from the fact that in linearizing implicit fluxes, it is conventional to replace the Jacobian matrix in t...

متن کاملUnconditionally Stable Difference Scheme for the Numerical Solution of Nonlinear Rosenau-KdV Equation
In this paper we investigate a nonlinear evolution model described by the Rosenau-KdV equation. We propose a three-level average implicit finite difference scheme for its numerical solutions and prove that this scheme is stable and convergent in the order of O(τ2 + h2). Furthermore we show the existence and uniqueness of numerical solutions. Comparing the numerical results with other methods in...
